An excellent package is an offer with an initial contract of 1 year (renewable). We are looing for applications from single teachers and married teaching couples who enjoy seeing children smile as they learn.

Information for candidates applying for vacant positions in the School

All applicants must complete the IAA application form. All shortlisted candidates must bring with them to the interview;

  • Original Passport and 1 photocopy of passport.
  • Recent passport size photographs (4)
  • Original academic qualifications certificates and one copy of each
  • Portfolio showing examples of planning and teaching including data of children's attainment with value added information.
  • Police clearance if available

Details of Package

The contracts are initially for a one year period. General teaching salaries are paid on an eight point scale (17770 to 25880 GBP tax free). The package is generous and includes:

  • Tax Free Salary
  • Annual return flights
  • Annual Renewable Contracts
  • Competitive Tax free Salary paid in GBP
  • Medical Insurance
  • Local Jordanian Social Security Payments
  • End of Service benefit
  • Accommodation
  • 5% enhancement of salary through local social security payments

Salaries are paid in GBP net of tax.  The transfer of funds out of the country is easy to set up with international banks like HSBC.  Staff  have tax-free status  but are required to pay the social security welfare fund.  The Social Security welfare fund is 5.5% of salary. This and an equal amount from the school's contribution to the same fund is paid out to you when you leave Jordan at the end of your contract. However, the amount paid back will be slightly less then 11% as there are administration charges. Normally, teachers should expect to receive approximately 10% of salary.

To assist with the cost of utilities the school gives a basic allowance per month which is a small contribution to the total. All overseas staff  join the school's medical insurance. There is an allowance for baggage at the start and end of the contract. Most staff find this sufficient to cover costs. See Staff Handbook for full details of benefits.
