IAA believes in comprehensive education. The only proviso concerning admissions is that the children’s level of English is proficient enough for them to be able to understand the material being delivered to them on a basic level.
All matters related to admissions are the responsibility of the Director of Admissions. The criteria regarding a potential student’s admission are based on some / all of the following:
- The admissions tests.
- Whether there are siblings at the School.
- Additional background information from the child’s current School re: either behaviour or academic attainment.
- An interview with the Principal / respective Headteacher to offer a conditional acceptance.
- The final decision re: accepting a student rests with a committee headed by the Managing Director.
The admission process is as follows :
- An appointment should be made with the Admission Office to arrange for an orientation and a tour around the School during which packages of information containing information about the school: application, fees, medical forms, etc. are handed out to interested parents of potential students .
- Parents are requested to return some of these forms after completing them.
- Upon completion of all the related documents, application fees are due.
- Potential students must complete the assessments specified for each level.
- Assessments of potential students should be administered by teaching staff as determined by the principal.
- Regardless of the outcome, parents of children who have been assessed are contacted by the School administration within ten working days.
- Before any commitments are made by the school parents are expected to meet the registration financial requirements.
- In the case of acceptance the student is allocated a grade, a house and a student file is created.
